Hindsight is 20/20. If I knew what was going to happen on January 19, 2003, I would have never left my house that day, but, no one lives their lives that way.
A buddy asked me to go to a popular nightclub in Federal Way and I agreed to go. The night was going fine and I was having a good time when, out of no where, a drunk man pushed the woman I was dancing with and started to cuss at me. I had never seen this person before and the club's security kicked him out of the building. A short time later, this same drunk man was let back inside the club and again started trouble with me. This time the club took both of us outside and the drunk man took a gun out of his pants and shot me, 9 times.
I woke up at Harborview Hospital where I spent several weeks. I was thankful that I was not dead and I had a miraculous recovery. I hired Thad as my attorney and from the get-go he aggressively went after the club, proving that the club allowed the drunk man inside the building with a loaded gun after he had been kicked out once. The club refused to offer a reasonable settlement before trial and Thad fearlessly took the case to a jury trial. After 3 weeks in trial and just prior to the closing arguments, the club finally made a reasonable settlement offer and the case was resolved. Not many attorneys would have had the guts to really pursue this case through a jury trial and it was only after Thad's efforts that the case was ultimately settled.
